destroyed a large part of the city of London. It took
over ten years to rebuild the destroyed areas and
by the 18th century the city of London was the largest
in the world.
In the late 9th century it again took its role as
England’s biggest city, but at this time it
was not the capital. Winchester was the capital until
the 12th century. In the mid-17th century there was
a civil war in England.
It took until the 1960s for all the wars to be recovered
from and then London and its people were prosperous
beyond belief.

of change and improvement. There will more changes
in the years to come and hopefully all for the better.
